By Divya Bhati: Reliance Jio is offering a Rs 259 prepaid plan with calendar month validity. This prepaid plan will remain valid for full month, irrespective of how many days it has. The telecom operators generally offer monthly plans with 28 days of validity, which interrupts the calendar cycle and also increases yearly recharges. But Jio's Rs 259 prepaid plan goes with a monthly cycle, making it easier for the customers to plan their recharges. Jio was the first telecom operator to introduce a calendar month validity plan. The prepaid plan was rolled out after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) ordered telcos to offer prepaid mobile recharge plans with monthly validity. The move was taken to reduce the number of recharges a customer had to make during a year. The Rs 259 plan is available for both new and existing users of Reliance Jio. The validity of the plan will be exactly 1 month from the recharge. For example, if you recharge your phone on October 1, then your next recurring recharge date will be November 1. The plan validity will not be affected by the total number of days in a month.
