Bhagat Singh was born on 27 th September, 1907, in Punjab. The young revolutionary shot a British police officer to take revenge for the death of the great freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. Although he shot the wrong officer, his courage and charisma transformed him into a hero for the people of Punjab and India. He was later hanged by the British, but his sacrifice continued to inspire people throughout the freedom struggle, and his name is honoured to this day. Bhagat Singh is a perfect embodiment of the fiery determination of the Indian youth during the fight for freedom.
