Just two weeks back, Delhi once again bore witness to a crime that won’t be easily forgotten by many people for years to come, at least for those who saw the purported video of the dastardly act that was caught on a CCTV camera. Also Read: During the hearing, special public prosecutor Amit Prasad presented an audio/video recording of Shraddha Walkar telling her psychologist that Poonawala will hunt her, find her and kill her while pointing towards the violent trajectory of their relationship. Advocate Akshay Bhandari, appearing for Aftab Poonawala, had earlier contended that the accused cannot be simultaneously charged with murder and destruction of evidence since it would prejudice his right. He also argued that merely saying that the accused is guilty of murder is not enough and the prosecution should also show the manner in which the crime was committed. Advocate Seema Kushwaha, appearing for Shraddha Walkar's father Vikas Walkar, had requested the court to release the bones of his daughter to perform her last rites within one year. Vikas Walkar had also requested capital punishment for Aftab. Speaking before reporters in April, Vikas Walkar said, "I do not think the case is going to conclude soon. We are seeking fast-tracking of proceedings in the case. I have not been able to perform my daughter's last rites yet. In May, it will be a year since she died."
