Recent studies suggest that leukaemic stem cells (LSCs) drive AML relapse by residing in the bone marrow niche and adapting their metabolic profile. Metabolic adaptation and LSC plasticity are novel hallmarks of leukemogenesis that provide important biological processes required for tumour initiation, progression and therapeutic responses. These findings highlight the importance of targeting metabolic pathways in leukaemia biology which might serve as the Achilles’ heel for the treatment of AML relapse. एमिनो अम्ल को कहीं-कहीं अमीनो अम्ल तथा ऐमिनो अम्ल लिख दिया जाता है। यह तीनों एक ही है। आप पहले वाला यानी एमिनो अम्ल का ही प्रयोग करें। एमिनो अम्ल वे यौगिक जिनके एक अणु में एक या अधिक कार्बोक्सिलिक समूह (–COOH) तथा एक या अधिक ऐमीनो समूह (–NH 2) उपस्थित होता है। तो उस यौगिक को एमिनो अम्ल (amino acid in Hindi) कहते हैं। एमिनो अम्ल प्रोटीन की आधारभूत इकाई है। इसमें ऐमीनो तथा कार्बोक्सिलिक क्रियात्मक समूह उपस्थित होते हैं जैसे – CH 3COOH \xrightarrow [+ NH_2] इसमें ऐमीनो समूह NH 2 तथा कार्बोक्सिलिक समूह COOH है। इसलिए यह अमीनो अम्ल का एक उदाहरण है। एमिनो अम्ल का वर्गीकरण एमिनो अम्ल को उनके अणुओं में उपस्थित ऐमीनो तथा कार्बोक्सिलिक क्रियात्मक समूह की संख्या के आधार पर तीन भागों में वर्गीकृत किया गया है। 1. उदासीन एमिनो अम्ल 2. अम्लीय एमिनो अम्ल 3. क्षारीय एमिनो अम्ल 1. उदासीन एमिनो अम्ल आवश्यक तथा अनावश्यक एमिनो अम्ल वे एमिनो अम्ल जो शरीर में संश्लेषित नहीं होते है तथा जिनको भोजन द्वारा लेना आवश्यक होता है। तो उन्हें आवश्यक एमिनो अम्ल कहते हैं। जैसे – बैलीन, ल्यूसीन, आइसोल्यूसीन, अर्जीनीन, लाइसीन, थ्रीयोनीन, मैथियोनीन, फेनिल एलेनीन, ट्रिप्टोफेन तथा हिस्टीडीन आवश्यक एमिनो अम्ल के उदाहरण हैं। वे एमिनो अम्ल जो शरीर में संश्लेषित हो जाते हैं। उन्हें अनावश्यक एमिनो अम्ल कहते हैं। जैसे – ग्लाइसीन, एलानीन, ग्लूटैमिक अम्ल, ऐस्पार्टिक अम्ल, ग्लूटेमीन, सेटीन, सिस्टीन, टाइरोसीन तथा प्रोलीन अनावश्यक एमिनो अम्ल के उदाहरण हैं। एमिनो अम्ल की गुण • एमिनो अम्ल रंगहीन, क्रिस्टलीय ठोस पदार्थ होते हैं। • इनके गलनांक उच्च होते हैं। • यह जल में विलेय होते हैं। ज्विटर आयन
