Anti Narcotics Task Force will be Formed in the state

• 26 Jul 2022 • 1 min read Why in News? On July 25, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Secretary Usha Sharma said that an Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) will be set up soon to control drugs in the state. This task force will specifically control the drug trade. Key Points • The Chief Secretary said this while chairing the 4th State Level Encord (NARCO Coordination) meeting organized by the Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India at the Government Secretariat. • In the meeting, Chief Secretary Usha Sharma directed the Home Department to prepare a state level awareness strategy at the earliest to create awareness about drugs and take effective steps to control the increasing medicinal addiction among the youth. • He said that under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, an oath should be taken not to take drugs in programmes organized for school children in the state from August 12 to 15 and this pledge should be made part of the proposed rural Olympics in the state at the end of August, in which a large number of youth will participate.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 14 (ANI): Intensifying its war against the narco nexus in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the transfer policy within the Police department for the smooth functioning of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), an official statement said on Friday. Under the new policy, the government will now post 450 police personnel on deputations within ANTF. The personnel will be deputed as inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, constables, constable drivers, sub-inspectors (Confidential), sub-inspectors/assistant sub-inspectors (clerk), sub-inspectors/assistant sub-inspectors (Accounts) and computer operators. As soon as the transfer policy was approved by the Yogi government, the department also fixed the qualification for these posts, the statement read. Manipur government strengthens anti

Apart from DIGP (intelligent and NAB) of the The state government, in an order issued on March 23 in pursuance of the decision taken in the third Apex Level NCORD (Narco-Coordination Centre) Committee, re-constituted the task force. The task force will function as the NCORD secretariat for the state and will follow up on compliance of decisions taken in NCORD meetings at different levels, the order of the governor stated. The re-constitution of the task force came up barely a day after the first cabinet meeting of the new government led by N Biren Singh resolved to make Manipur drug free.
