Architect of India`;s Constitution

After the Second World War, Babasaheb was elected to the Constituent Assembly to decide the way that India - a country of millions of people - should be ruled. How should elections take place? What are the rights of the people? How are laws to be made? Such important matters had to be decided and laws had to be made. The Constitution answers all such questions and lays down rules. This responsibility was entrusted to Ambedkar. When India became independent in August 1947, Babasaheb Ambedkar became First Law Minister of Independent India. The Constituent Assembly made him chairman of the committee appointed to draft the constitution for the world's largest democracy. All his study of law, economics, and politics made him the best qualified person for this task. A study of the Constitutions of many countries, a deep knowledge of law, knowledge of the history of India and of Indian Society - all these were essential. In fact, he carried the whole burden alone. He alone could complete this huge task. After completing the Draft Constitution, Babasaheb fell ill. At a nursing home in Bombay he met Dr. Sharda Kabir and married her in April 1948. On November 4, 1948 he presented the Draft Constitution to the Constituent Assembly, and on November 26, 1949 it was adopted in the name of the people of India. On that date he said: -I appeal to all Indians to be a nation by discarding castes, which have brought separation in social life and created jealousy and hatred." The text prepared...

Benegal Narasing Rau

#BenegalNarasingRau Dr Rajendra Prasad, the President of the Constituent Assembly, said Rau “was the person who visualised the plan and laid the foundation” of the Indian Constitution. Who was this Rau? He is “The forgotten architect of Indian Constitution” A tribute to Kannadiga who incidentally was the most important person in drafting the constitution. B.N.Rau (26 February 1887 – 30 November 1953) was born at Mangalore. The Indian Constitution was drafted by a core committee of seven experts headed by Dr BR Ambedkar. Ambedkar was chosen the head because he had already served in various sub-committees, but before that he faced severe opposition from Abul Kalam and Nehru, but it was Rajendra Prasad who inducted him opposing the then President of Congress. There is much talk about who really was the biggest brain behind making the Constitution as knowledgeable people believe Ambedkar couldn’t have been the guy. Oldies with wisdom, who knew the India of those days, have said univocally that BN Rau who was appointed as the adviser to the Constituent Assembly was the expert who did the most job and worked out the democratic framework of the Constitution. He singlehandedly prepared the initial draft by February 1948, to be debated, revised and finally adopted by the team on November 26, 1949. The Drafting Committee, under the chairmanship of Ambedkar, declared that the ‘Draft Constitution’ was being scrutinised thoroughly by adviser BN Rau for making it one of the world’s best...

Did Dr B.R really made the Indian Constitution? Why is this so hyped about in India?

It is all Communist propaganda after 1980 when Dr BR Ambedkar was projected as Architect of Indian Constitution. Dr BR Ambedkar was a great man, with all due respect to him The Original Constitution writer was B N Rau was BN Rau not only drafted Indian constitution, but also assisted in drafting the Constitution of Myanmar or Burma! So like Rabindranath Tagore helping 2 nations with national anthems, this great man had contribution to 2 countries with their most important book – the constitution! Many countries got independence from colonial powers in late 20 century, along with India, India was not an exception. The Modern day nation states running on democracy is a recent day creation. Universal Education to people is a modern day concept. This was not given by Ambedkar. Ambedkar never made the Indian Constitution. The Current Indian Constitution is based on Govt of India Act of 1935 passed by BRITISH. Drafting Sir Benegal Narsing Rau, a civil servant who became the first Indian judge in the International Court of Justice and was president of the United Nations Security Council, was appointed as the assembly’s constitutional adviser in 1946. Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar: Architect of The Modern Indian Constitution

In India’s galaxy of independence heroes, he was the one we could truly call the “Pole Star.” He was a strong leader who fought not just for the country but also for the rights of minority groups who had been oppressed for generations. We should follow this man’s lead and seek equality, which includes equality of thoughts, feelings, and aspirations. It’s not wrong to aspire in life, but limiting a man’s path with cultural rules is a sin. Let his legacy live on. We can also incorporate some of his traits into our lives. About Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: He had advanced degrees from the United States, England, and Germany. Despite his schooling, he was subjected to a lot of social abuse. When he was assigned as Military Advisor in the Maharaja of Baroda’s court, the staff insulted him so badly that he had to resign. He refused to work because he was fed up with caste criticism, and after getting a law degree in England, he formed his own law practise in Bombay. Ambedkar’s Struggle And Views On Social Justice To Make Indian Constitution: The Indian Constitution’s spirit and vision is social justice. It is the state’s responsibility to ensure a social order in which the nation’s legal system promotes justice on an equal basis. Ambedkar’s fight for human dignity included a wide range of issues. To achieve the highest degree of humanity, he had to begin with the right to be human. His thoughts, works, and approach are all linked to the Social Humanism school of thought. He established a ...
