Adult: For symptomatic relief of allergic rhino-conjunctivitis (seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis): As conventional tab: 20 mg once daily. Limit treatment to the period of exposure to allergens. Seasonal allergic rhinitis: Discontinue treatment after the symptoms have resolved, reinitiate treatment if symptoms reappear. Perennial allergic rhinitis: Treatment may be continued during allergen exposure periods. Child: For symptomatic relief of allergic rhino-conjunctivitis (seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis): 6-11 years weighing at least 20 kg: As orodispersible tab and oral solution: 10 mg once daily. ≥12 years Same as adult dose. Oral Urticaria Cardiac disorders: Right bundle branch block, sinus arrhythmia. Ear and labyrinth disorders: Vertigo, tinnitus. Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea, diarrhoea, dry mouth, thirst, dyspepsia, gastritis, upper abdominal pain, abdominal pain. General disorders and administration site conditions: Fatigue, asthenia, pyrexia. Infections and infestations: Oral herpes. Investigations: Increased gamma glutamyltransferase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, blood creatinine, triglycerides, and weight. Bilastine: View Uses, Side Effects and Medicines

• Your doctor has prescribed Bilastine to help relieve allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes. • As compared to other similar medications, it is much less likely to make you feel sleepy. • Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as it can cause dizziness and sleepiness. • Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication as it may cause increased sleepiness. • Stop taking Bilastine at least three days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.

About Bilastine

Bilastine is an antihistamine that is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (sneezing, itchy nose, nasal secretion, nasal congestion and red, streaming eyes) and other forms of allergic rhinitis. It can also be used to treat itchy skin rashes (wheals or urticaria). Warnings and precautions concerning bilastine • Before starting to use bilastine, talk to your pharmacist if you are suffering from moderate or severe kidney failure or if you are also taking other medicines. • You should not take bilastine if you are allergic to bilastine or to any other component of this medicine. • Do not exceed the recommended dose, and talk to your doctor if the symptoms persist. Other medicines and bilastine tablets If you are taking or have to take bilastine while taking other medicines (even if purchased without a prescription), tell your doctor or pharmacist so you can receive the appropriate advice. Bilastine relieves allergic symptoms. Take one tablet daily. Take the tablet when your stomach is empty (so, one hour before a meal, or alternatively, two hours after eating a meal). Do NOT take the tablet with any food, or with grapefruit juice or any other fruit juices. Bilastine is called a non-drowsy antihistamine; however, it can still cause drowsiness in a few people. Make sure your reactions are normal before you drive, or before using tools or machines.
