All their bowlers had a poor day on Day 1 but they have come back strongly and snatched the momentum. Now it is onto their batters. They'll have to play well. The new ball is not going to be easy to face, can they overcome that challenge? We will find out. • The hosts however, will be disappointed with their effort this morning. They would have been eyeing over 400 with two set batters in but wickets fell heaps. That has been the case for them, just the two partnerships, one between Shanto and Joy and the other between Rahim and Mehidy has got them here. The rest did not contribute a lot. They though will still feel, they have a g...

STUMPS | India vs Bangladesh, 1st Test Day 3: Bangla Tigers Need 471 Runs to Win. AS IT HAPPENED | India vs Bangladesh, 1st Test Day 3 Chattogram, Dec 16: Bangladesh’s young openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan took the hosts to 42/0 at stumps on day three after Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara slammed centuries for India to set a target of 513 in the first Test at Chattogram on Friday. Also Read: • • • After Kuldeep Yadav’s third five-wicket haul in his eighth Test helped India bowl out Bangladesh for 150 in the first innings, Gill hit a quick 110, his maiden century in the format, while Pujara smashed 102 not out, his fastest-ever hundred and first since January 2019, as the visitors declared their second innings at 258/2 in 61.4 overs. Chasing 513, Shanto and Zakir did well to negotiate the tricky 12-over phase without much trouble, especially under fading light. There was some turn available for the Indian bowlers, but with the pitch slowing down considerably, the visitors will have to work hard for the next two days as Bangladesh are still behind by 471 runs with two full days left in the mat...

Afghanistan 45/2 in 11.0 Overs

The light meter is out. The umpires feel it is not good enough and that will be Stumps. So, Bangladesh have managed to scalp two wickets. It is going as per their plan. Afghanistan, after a tiring job with the ball, have a massive task upon them. Day 3 started with Najmul Hossain Shanto out there along with Hasan. Both teed off the freebies dearly. Najmul Hossain Shanto went onto score his second century while Hasan got run out as he was looking for a big score. Bangladesh at that time had enough lead, certainly good enough to challenge the visitors but Litton Das had other things on his mind. He wanted his other batters to get some runs. The skipper got to his fifty but it was Mominul Haque's excellent century that took the news. Afghanistan need 617 runs to win. A big task. A big Day 4 is coming up your way. Join us at 9.30 am IST (4 am GMT) for the coverage. Cheers! Score26 - 2 Taskin Ahmed to Hashmatullah Shahidi, That is a big blow! Short and on middle. Shahidi ducks and tries to evade but the ball stays low. Shahidi takes his eyes off and takes a blow on the helmet. He is flat on the ground and needs a minute or so to get his breathe back. The physio is out.

(AP) India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test highlights, Day 4: India beat Bangladesh by three wickets in the low-scoring second test to complete a 2-0 series sweep in Mirpur. Chasing 145 for victory on a turning track, India overcame a batting collapse to reach the target in the first session on a penultimate day at Mirpur’s Shere Bangla National Stadium. When Mehidy Hasan Miraz uprooted Axar Patel’s leg stump for his fifth wicket of the innings, India were just past the halfway stage of what was increasingly looking like a target beyond them. Resuming on 45 for 4, India had lost Jaydev Unadkat plumb leg-before to Shakib Al Hasan, and had also burned a review in trying to save the nightwatchman. You trust the guys in the middle (during such situations). We've played enough cricket to realise that someone will put their hand up to win us the game. But I'm not going to lie, there was a lot of tension in the dressing room. It was a tough wicket to bat on, they put us under pressure in both innings. It was a new-ball surface to some extent, once the ball got softer, it was easier to score runs. I...

India have been fined 80% of their match fee for their slow over rate during the first ODI in Mirpur. Match referee Ranjan Madugalle imposed the sanction after ruling that India were four overs short of the target after taking time allowances into consideration. According to Article 2.22 of the ICC code of conduct, players are fined 20% of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time. India captain Rohit Sharma pled guilty to the offence and accepted the sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Michael Gough and Tanvir Ahmed, third umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid and fourth umpire Gazi Sohel levelled the charge. It was Mustafizur who kicked the partnership into gear, hitting Bangladesh's first boundary in 105 balls with a punch through the covers off Siraj. Mehidy farmed the strike for most part thereafter, and went after the boundaries with nothing-to-lose abandon. He carved behind point, scooped to fine leg, punched, and pulled; and as the target neared, India's fielding disintegrated. A fierce cut from Mehidy off the first ball of the next over, the 46th, brought it down to four runs required, but there was still time left for nerves to jangle. The third umpire was called upon to adjudicate a direct hit from Rohit Sharma at midwicket when the batters looked to sneak a tight single, and NOT OUT appeared on the big screen to blow the roof off the stadium and level the scores. Chahar brought all his fielders into...
