Sony TV issued a statement via their Twitter handle @SonyLiv and wrote that the said episode was a "work of fiction" and that the episode was based on an incident dating back to 2011. "Some viewers have commented on social media about a recent episode of "Crime Patrol" on SET resembling a recent incident reported in the media. We wish to clarify that while the episode is a work of fiction, it is based on certain events that occurred in 2011 and not connected to any recent case." They further wrote, "We take every care to ensure our content meets broadcasting standards laid down by the regulatory bodies. (Trigger warning: Description of violence, gory details.) “…Tortured and tormented Shraddha decided to break up with the accused several times but she could not because she had no support system and she was largely banking on the accused, or rather, she was at no return point.” This is one of the things that the Delhi Police has written in its 6,600-page-long charge sheet in relation to the Shraddha Walkar murder case. The gruesome murder of 28-year-old Walkar, allegedly by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala, in Delhi, came to light in November 2022 – six months after the incident. The Delhi police submitted the charge sheet in a Delhi court in January this year and it has testimonies of 182 people. The charge sheet claims how Poonawala ordered a single “chicken roll” hours after the murder, his increased usage of water on 19, 20 and 21 May to wash off blood stains, his alleged attempts at building an alibi via a dating app match, and how he misled the police during the investigation. Kottayam: Minister of Higher Education R Bindu after meeting the students and the management of the Amal Jyothi Engineering College assured that the Crime Branch will investigate the death of Shraddha. "The college will reopen on Monday," the Minister informed. Following the suicide case of Shraddha Satheesh (20), the students launched a massive protest against the management of the college over alleged harassment. Minister R Bindu and Minister for Cooperation VN Vasavan held talks with the representatives of the college management and students on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Minister R Bindu slammed the state's self-financing universities for establishing stringent policies on their campuses. She was responding to the controversy around Shraddha's suicide. "Colleges shouldn't be so immature. College moral policing and discipline have put too much pressure on students, the minister claimed. It is alleged that the student died by suicide after facing harassment from her teachers. The college management decided to shut the college indefinitely as the students intensified protests. The students were instructed to vacate the hostel however, they refused to do.
