Anjali Singh, whose death has sent shockwaves across the nation, was screaming for help when she was dragged along the car, claims her friend who was with her during the accident. The friend, Nidhi, told the police that she felt hopeless and walked home. She said that once she reached home she told her mother and grandmother everything. Anjali was killed on New Year’s after her scooty was hit by a Baleno car with five men in it. Her leg got stuck in the axle of the car and she was dragged for some 12-14 kilometres. Nidhi, who was with Anjali when the car hit the scooty, revealed a lot of details to India Today. By Arvind Ojha: A Delhi woman was killed after being dragged for several kilometres by a car on Sunday morning. A new CCTV footage shows the car making a U-turn in the Kanjhawala area. The body of the woman is visible under the vehicle. The footage from 3:34 am shows the vehicle making a U-turn a little ahead of Ladpur village and moving towards Tosi village. The woman (23), who was on her way home, was dragged by a car for around four kilometres from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in Delhi after the scooter she was riding collided with the vehicle early Sunday morning. The incident came to the fore after the Kanjhawal police in Rohini district received a call around 3:30am on Sunday in which the caller said that a grey Baleno car going towards Qutubgarh was dragging along a body of a woman. The caller told police the registration number of the car, which was communicated to the staff deployed at the checkpoints with clear instructions to stop the car and search the vehicle. The arrested accused have been identified as Deepak Khanna (26), Amit Khanna (25), Krishan (27), Mithun (26) and Manoj Mittal (27). Police have seized the car and also taken the samples of the men to check if they were in an inebriated condition at the time of the accident. Further investigation is underway. Read |
