New Parliament inauguration: Restricted traffic movement in these areas in Delhi

Ahead of the inauguration of new Parliament building on Sunday, The traffic police urged the public to avoid the New Delhi district from 5:30 am to 3 pm. This would mean that only specific movement of vehicles will be allowed, which includes public transport, civil services aspirants, bonafide residents, labelled vehicles and emergency vehicles. In view of the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ organised by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, where farmers will gather at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Monday, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory asking public and motorists to avoid roads around the Ramlila Maidan, especially JLN Marg from Delhi Gate to Ajmeri Gate Chowk. Thousands of farmers will descend at the famous protest site to press for a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP), the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of farmer unions, said in a statement on Sunday. The Delhi Police on Saturday night issued a traffic advisory in view of Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal (HT Photo) “In view of AAP's 'Maha Rally' at Ramlila Ground on June 11, 2023, diversion points will be effective and traffic restrictions/regulation/diversion may be imposed on certain roads. Kindly follow the advisory to avoid any inconvenience,” the city's traffic police tweeted. Delhi traffic snarls, waterlogging in part of Delhi after heavy rain

Delhi Traffic advisory: Traffic snarls and waterlogging were reported in several parts of the national capital on Monday as rain lashed the city making it difficult for the commuters to reach their destination on time. The Delhi Traffic Police said they received 31 calls at their control room regarding the traffic issue, along with three calls related to waterlogging. Soumya Singh, who was travelling from Lajpat Nagar to Mandi House, said six cab drivers cancelled her bookings. "I was trying to book a cab from Lajpat Nagar to Mandi House, but it took me seven attempts to finally book a cab. In between, the prices were also fluctuating rapidly. During the rainy season, it becomes very difficult to get a cab or an auto-rickshaw through online cab aggregators," Singh said. Several other commuters also shared updates on the traffic situation on Twitter. "Traffic choked under flyover towards August Kranti Marg from Panchsheel Park, Heavy traffic on Rohtak Road between Peeragarhi and Nangloi," a Twitter user said.
