Doctor G movie review: Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, the movie features Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah and Sheeba Chaddha in pivotal roles. The movie narrates the story of Uday, who wishes to be in Ortho, but lands up in the gynaecology department, and what follows is some drama and loads of comedy, while also giving away a subtle message. Anubhuti Kashyap has her way around films, and she does right by this one too. The film looks technically sound to watch in that sense. Staying true to the nature of the film, she knows how to find her footing and without making the setting look unreal, but in fact, most of what we see, looks as it is supposed to. No matter what the role and what the set up, Ayushmann manages to suit his part like a hand in glove. He plays Dr. Uday in the film, and given the movie is based in Bhopal, he has his moments where he has the accent but it is in no way overdone. For instance, he says 'sorie' and not 'sorry', among other things. Doctor G is a journey of an aspiring orthopedic surgeon who instead gets into the gynaecology department, being the only male in a woman dominated department, there begins his humorous struggle to fit in.
