भौगोलिक विशेषताएं देश का कुल इलाका लगभग 3ण्28 मिलीयन वर्ग किलोमीटर का है। भारत की मुख्य भूमि 8 डिग्री 4श् और 37 डिग्री 6श् एन अक्षांश और 68 डिग्री 7श् और 97 डिग्री 25श् ई देशांतर में फैली है। कर्क रेखा 23 डिग्री 30श् एन भारत को लगभग दो हिस्सों में बांटती है। देश की भूमि सीमा 15ए200 किलोमीटर और कुल समुद्र तट रेखा 7ए517 किलोमीटर की है। भारतीय प्रायद्वीप दक्षिण की ओर तंग होता है जिससे दो जल निकाय बनते हैं . बंगाल की खाड़ी और अरब सागर। भारत में जमीन के प्राकृतिक रुपों में बहुत विविधता हैए जैसे बुलंद पहाड़ए गहरी घाटियांए विशाल मैदान और बहुत सारे द्वीप। मौटे तौर पर कहा जाए तो भारत के भौतिक रुप को कई इकाईयों में बांटा जा सकता हैए जैसे उत्तर के विशाल पर्वतए उत्तर भारतीय मैदानए प्रायद्वीपीय पठारए तटीय मैदानए थार रेगिस्तान और द्वीप समूह। भौगोलिक क्षेत्र राहत सुविधाओंए इतिहास और स्टेटोग्राफी के आधार पर भारत को कई भौगोलिक इकाइयों में बांटा जा सकता है। 1: उत्तर के विशाल पर्वत भारत के उत्तर और उत्तरी क्षेत्र में हिमालय है जो देश को तिब्बत पठार से अलग करता है। हिमालय पर्वत श्रृंखला को विभिन्न श्रेणियों में बांटा गया हैरू पीर पंजाल रेंज: यह निचले हिमालय की सबसे लंबी श्रृंखला है और पूर्व.दक्षिणपूर्व से पश्चिम.उत्तर पश्चिम तक जाती है। ष्पीर पंजाल पासष् श्रीनगर के पश्चिम में है और इसमें बनिहाल दर्राए सिंथाल दर्राए रोहतांग लाए मुनावर दर्रा और हाजी पीर दर्रा शामिल हैं। लद््दाख रेंज: यह श्रृंखला लेह के उत्तरी ओर से तिब्बत सीमा तक जाती है। इसमें दिगर ला पास और खरदुंग ला पास शामिल हैं। जांस्कर रेंज: यह रेंज कश्मीर की दक्षिण.पूर्वी सीमा से शुरु होकर बाल्टिस्तान की पूर्वी सीमा तक फैली है। सिंगे ला ...
