Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal likely to continue

BHUBANESWAR: Despite the tenure of Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal ends on Monday, he is likely to stay on as the governor of the state as there is no announcement of his successor. Lal is a popular governor because of his friendly and down to earth nature. Lal was appointed as governor of Odisha on May 25, 2018 and took oath after four days on May 29 and succeeded Satya Pal Malik, who was holding the additional charge of Odisha along with Bihar. Lal, a professor in mathematics was former president of Haryana BJP and served as a minister in the Haryana Bikas Party-BJP government from 1996-99. The octogenarian leader is known for his simple life and people-friendly nature. Lal was the 25th governor of Odisha and his tenure has remained non-controversial so far. Lal lost his wife Sushila Devi due to post-covid complications on November 23, 2020. But the governor did not allow his personal loss to come in way of his duty as he cleared the selection of vice chancellors to various state universities on the same day. “Duty First!!
