Currently, Najmul Shanto and Zakir Hasan are standing unbeaten as Bangladesh's score read at 7/0 at stumps. The hosts trail by 80 runs. Earlier for India, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer shone with the bat and smashed 93 and 87 runs respectively. On Day 1, India had bowled out Bangladesh for 227 after the hosts had elected to bat in Mirpur. For India, Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin had bagged four wickets each, while Jaydev Unadkat had taken two on his return to the team after a 12 year gap. For Bangladesh, Mominul Haque played a brilliant knock of 84 runs before he was dismissed by Ashwin. ( We...

Bangladesh beat India Bangladesh won by 5 runs

8.30pm Cheers Himanshu. Another cracking finish in Mirpur. Mehidy and Mahmudullah set it up, dragging Bangladesh up to 271 for 7 from the pits of 69 for 6. India, powered by an injured Rohit, took the game down to the final ball, but Mutafizur nervelessly closed it out. Can Bangladesh press onto whitewash India 3-0, in Chattogram? I'll bring you the presentation shortly. Do stick with us. Rohit, India captain: Honestly, the thumb is not too great. Some dislocation on the finger, but not a fracture, which is why I could come and bat. I think when you lose a game, there are positives and negatives... From 70 for 6 to allowing them to 270-odd was not a great effort from the bowlers. The middle overs and back end are hurting us - it hurt us in the first game as well. We need to focus on what we need to do as individuals but not taking anything away from Mehidy and Mahmudullah. But we need to learn how to break partnerships and that's something that will hold you in good stead. In one-day cricket, it's all about partnerships like those guys did it. When you get 50, 70-run partnerships, you should make it 100-120 partnership. Having said that, we have a lot of things to look at and we need to be a bit brave and take more chances. Few injury concerns and we need to get to the bottom of it; maybe they're playing too much cricket. It's something we have to sit down with our team at NCA and try and monitor their workload. Can't afford to have half-fit players representing India. Meh...

Bangladesh beat India Bangladesh won by 1 wicket (with 24 balls remaining)

Litton Das, the winning captain: Very happy. When I was in the dressing room, I was really nervous, but the way Fizz and Miraz batted, I enjoyed it a lot. The bowlers bowled really well at the start. When me and Shakib were batting, we thought we could chase it easily. But when we got out, it got tricky. I had faith on the others but I have no words to describe this feeling. Congratulations to Miraz. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the Player of the Match : Thanks to Allah. I am really excited. Mustafizur and I just thought that we need to believe. I just told him to stay calm and play 20 balls. I am really enjoying bowling. The wicket in the morning was a bit tricky, and I enjoyed bowling. This performance is really memorable for me. First up, Rohit Sharma, the India captain : It was a very close game. We did very well to come back into the game. We did not bat well. We bowled pretty well and kept them under pressure till the end. They held their nerves in the backend. If you look back at how we bowled, of course the last few overs, we would have liked to get a wicket. We kept taking wickets all through. It wasn't enough runs. Another 30-40 runs would have made a difference. With KL and Washy, we could have got there. Unfortunately, we lost wickets in the middle, and it is not easy to come back. The pitch was a bit challenging, the odd ball was turning. You have to understand how to play. There are no excuses, we are used to such types of conditions. We need to look at how to bat a...

IND vs BAN Highlights: Rohit’s heroics in vain as Bangladesh beats India to win series 2

Rohit Sharma’s valiant unbeaten half-century goes in vain as Bangladesh beats India to win the series 2-1. The India skipper, who was injured hammered a brilliant unbeaten 51 off 28 balls but his heroics went in vain as Bangladesh and Mustafizur held their nerve to beat India by five runs and script a historic series win, its second consecutive win at home against India. • Shakib Al Hasan strikes and he removes Shardul Thakur with a ripper as the ball zips past the batsman, who danced down the track only to be beaten and get stumped. Rohit Sharma is out in the middle and that’s a brave move from the Indian skipper. Having injured his finger, the skipper copes up a blow but is off the mark. • Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar are out in the middle and this is the last recognised pair as Rohit Sharma is unlikely to come out and bat. The required rate has now gone past eight runs per over and Bangladesh sniffing a series win with the crowd behind them. India needs a blinder from either Shardul or Chahar to go past the finishing line. Boundaries the need of the hour. • The bowling change has worked and this time Axar Patel falls and the all-rounder departs for a brilliant 56-ball 56 with three sixes and two boundaries but credit to Litton for getting his strike bowler Ebadot back into the attack. Axar had to go for the boundary shit but failed to clear the cover region as Shakib Al Hasan took a good catch to put Bangladesh ahead. • Mehidy Hasan strikes and he breaks the century...
