Kanpur Fire Accident : उत्तर प्रदेश में कानपुर के बांसमंडी के पांच कांप्लेक्स में गुरुवार रात लगी आग पर 72 घंटे बाद रविवार करीब रात एक बजे काबू पा लिया गया है। रविवार सुबह पांच बजे हमराज कांप्लेक्स के पिछले हिस्से सुपर हमराज और हमराज फेज-2 में लपटें उठीं तो पता चला कि करीब 550 और दुकानों में भी आग सुलग रही है। सुबह 10 बजे के करीब एआर टावर की चौथी मंजिल के पिछले हिस्से में आग दोबारा जलने लगी। पांचों कांप्लेक्स की 800 में से 600 दुकानें जलने की जानकारी बीते शनिवार तक सामने आई थी। लेकिन अब यह संख्या बढ़कर 1150 हो गई है। बता दें कि इससे पहले सपा प्रमुख अखिलेश यादव ने भी वहां पहुंचकर व्यापारियों से बातचीत कर चिंता जताई थी। Kanpur Fire Accident : NDRF- SDRF और 170 दमकल कर्मियों ने आग पर पाया काबू इस आग की शुरुआत जहाँ से हुयी थी उसके बगल में अरजन टावर, मसूद कांप्लेक्स, हमराज कांप्लेक्स और नफीस टावर भी इसकी चपेट में आ गए थे। यहां रेडीमेड कपड़ों की थोक दुकानें और गोदाम बने हैं। आग बुझाने के लिए एनडीआरएफ और एसडीआरएफ के 60 सदस्य, 170 दमकल कर्मी, चार हाइड्रोलिक फायर लिफ्ट व दमकल की 55 गाडि़यां लगाई गई थीं। अलग-अलग मंजिलों में भड़क रही आग ने दमलकर्मियों की चिंता बढ़ा रखी थी। 2500 करोड़ का हुआ नुकसान उत्तर प्रदेश गारमेंट ट्रेडर्स एंड मैन्यूफैक्चरर एसोसिएशन के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष विजय गुप्ता गोरे के मुताबिक़, 2500 करोड़ रुपये के रेडीमेड कपड़े जलकर राख हो गए। नफीस टावर की दूसरी मंजिल पर स्थित भारतीय स्टेट बैंक की शाखा को खाली करा लिया गया है। कांप्लेक्स के पिछले हिस्से में रहने वाले पांच-छह परिवारों से घर भी खाली कराए गए हैं। बांसमंडी चौराहा से सटे एआर टावर में गुरुवार रात डेढ़ बजे आग लगी थी।

On Thursday at around 2 p.m., a short circuit caused an unexpected fire to start that quickly spread to the upper-floor shops. The adjacent buildings were gradually consumed by the fire as well. Six hours have passed since the fire started. The army has assumed control and ordered hydraulic fire brigade equipment from Lucknow. KANPUR: Police recovered the body of paan kiosk owner- Gyan Chandra Sahu (40), who was missing since Friday's fire in a commercial complex in Anwarganj Bansmandi area in Kanpur. This was the first incident of loss of life in the fire accident. A pall of gloom descended on Sahu's house following the news of recovery of his body. Gyan Chandra Sahu, a resident of Khadesar Bhartipur village, in Shambua area of Bidhnu, used to run a paan shop outside the complex in Bansmandi. He is survived by his wife Deepa and two children. During the search operation, fire department personnel found Sahu's badly burnt body lying on the third floor of the complex. "The body has been shifted for post-mortem, besides his family members have been informed," commissioner of police BP Jogdand said. About 12 to 14 persons, who were inside the four complexes at the time of the incident, were rescued. Efforts on to douse blaze The efforts to douse the massive fire that destroyed more than 800 shops located in five different shopping complexes including Arjan complex, AR Tower, Masood Complex, Hamraj Complex and Nafees Complex are still under way. The fire couldn't be controlled even 24 hours after the incident. Kanpur: A major fire broke out at a restaurant in Barra area, on Sunday morning with at least two fire tenders rushing to the spot to bring the blaze under control. No one was injured in the incident. The police said that the restaurant is owned by one Satya Prakash Gupta, resident of Barra-6 and it is located in the vicinity of his house. At around 5.30 am, the fire was noticed by the locals, who alerted the local police and Fire department. Around a half-a-dozen firefighters who arrived at the spot later took at least 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Fire department officials who reached the spot said investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. “The fire engulfed the entire restaurant that was full of combustible material in the form of grocery items and plastic bottles. Apart from this, two bikes and a scooty were burnt completely. Five LPG cylinders including four commercial and one domestic, were also kept in the restaurant, which were removed by the firemen well in time, otherwise the accident could have been all the more disastrous,” they said. Barra inspector Manvendra Singh, however, said, “The blaze appears to have been caused by a short circuit. A thick blanket of smoke engulfed the restaurant within minutes. We called in nearly two fire tenders from various stations.”

Notably, on March 31 a massive blaze erupted in the AR towers near Hamraj market in which over 500 shops were gutted leading to a loss of about ₹100 Crore, according to agency reports. Kanpur inferno A massive inferno broke out in the early hours of Friday, March 31 in Kanpur’s Bansmandi area at AR Tower near Hamraj Market, which left over 55 shops completely destroyed and led to a loss of over ₹100 Crore. A total of 15-16 fire tenders reached the spot to douse the fire. The AR tower was engulfed by fire and took control of the buildings present inside the Massod complex. Deputy director of the UP Fire Department, Ajay Kumar told ANI, "Efforts are still being made to extinguish the fire, for which hydraulic fire tenders are being taken from Lucknow along with army vehicles and fire tenders have also been sought from the surrounding districts of the city". Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak visited the spot and assured all possible help to the businessmen whose shops were gutted in the fire. While talking to reporters after visiting the site of the fire he said, “Our government stands with the businessmen in this hour. We will not leave them alone.
