Today marks the eighth day of Navratri and devotees across the country will worship Goddess According to Hindu mythology, the eighth day of Navratri is dedicated to Mahagauri who attained "Gaur Varna" by rigorous penance. The eighth day of Navaratri out of the nine days is for the worship of the goddess Mahagauri. She is considered to be the eight manifestation of Mahagauri has four arms out of which the right arm is allaying fear meaning destroying fear, worries and sufferings in the world.
