Transformers has come a long way since its inception in the early 80s. Since then, kids – and adults – have found immense joy in not only the television series and explosive movies, but the incredibly detailed, transforming action figures. Soundwave Masterpiece MP-13 If you’re at all interested in collecting Transformers, then the Masterpiece line is surely going to be right up your alley. As you can see from the video, we’ve opted for the Soundwave Masterpiece. Soundwave is the right-hand man to Megatron, his loyal lieutenant. For a lot of Transformer fans, Soundwave’s appeal came from his transformation mode. When not in his robot form, Soundwave takes on the appearance of a cassette tape. This now-obsolete form of media storage is immediately recognizable as an 80s and early 90s piece of technology. For those that grew up in those decades, it’s incredibly nostalgic. The Soundwave Masterpiece MP-13 we unbox in this video is able to do the same transformation. Well, not exactly the same. Soundwave actually transforms into a boombox. What’s more, Soundwave comes with his companion, Laserbeak, who is also able to undergo a similar transformation. Transformers Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave with Laserbeak is being reissued. This is great news for collectors new and old who missed this one (like me) who want one of the definitive versions of the fan-favorite Decepticon. This version of Soundwave will include a concussion blaster and rocket launcher that can be stored in his back, and can hold up to three cassettes at a time. A wrist mounted sensor, empty Energon cube, speakers in his arms, and even Megatron gun are included as well. Laserbeak can become a cassette of course, but can also be placed on Soundwave's arm or shoulder. Preorders can be placed Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave and Laserbeak Transformers Decepticon MP-13 Soundwave transforms into his classic tape deck mode and is much bigger than the original G1 version! His chest compartment opens and is scaled to accommodate the original G1 and new Masterpiece mini-cassettes, including his Condor cassette. He features a spring-loaded panel inside his compartment to allow up to 3 cassettes at once! Soundwave includes a concussion blaster and non-firing rocket launcher, and unlike the G1 toy, they can be stored in his back instead of becoming batteries for his tape deck mode.
