HYDERABAD: The TRS won the fiercely contested Munugode by-election with a healthy majority of more than 10,000 votes on Sunday. Munugode bypoll: Minister Jagadish Reddy angry over delay in counting results

The minister complained about the delay and asked officials to announce results after every round of counting. He also said that the “It is demanded that the officials themselves give the details to the media immediately after the completion of each round of counting,” the minister said in a statement released by TRS on Sunday. TRS candidate Kooskuntla Prabhakar Reddy was leading at the Monugode seat with 26,443 votes after the four rounds of counting, while BJP candidate Komatireddy Raj Gopal was trailing with 25,729 votes. In the Assembly by-polls held in six states, the Counting of votes for the by-polls is currently underway at the warehouse of the Food Corporation of India in the state’s Nalgonda. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won the Munugode Assembly bypoll in Telangana on Sunday. After the completion of 15 rounds of counting, TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy emerged the winner with a majority of 10,113 votes over the nearest candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy of BJP. According to final figures, TRS polled 96,598 votes and was followed by BJP (86,485) and Congress (23864). A total of 2,25,192 votes were polled and 47 candidates were in the fray. NOTA polled 482 votes.
