IITs dominate NIRF 2023 rankings, IIT Madras tops among engineering colleges

As in previous years, The IITs have retained the top spots in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings 2023 in the engineering category. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras) has once again bagged the number one rank in the best engineering college list. The second position was secured by IIT-Delhi followed by IIT-Bombay, IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Roorkee. This is the eighth edition of NIRF Rankings that was released today by the Ministry of Education in New Delhi. For details, the NIRF Rankings 2023 can be checked at nirfindia.org The parameters on which institutes are ranked are teaching learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcome, outreach and inclusivity and perception. In 2022, IIT Madras was at the top position, with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay bagging the second and third ranks, respectively. IIT Kanpur and IIT Kharagpur too had retained their previous years’ rankings of fourth and fifth spot, and IIT Roorkee was at sixth position, followed by IIT Guwahati at the seventh spot. National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli earned the eighth spot last year, replacing IIT Hyderabad that had slipped to the ninth spot, and National Institute of Technology Karnataka retained its tenth spot, much like 2021 rankings.
