Notebook is a 2019 Indian romantic drama film that stars Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl in lead roles. The movie marks the acting debut of both the actors who are children of two famous Bollywood celebrities, Salman Khan's childhood friend Iqbal Ratnasi and Mohnish Bahl. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Notebook is a remake of the 2014 Thai film Teacher's Diary, which was also remade in the Philippines. The story revolves around Kabir (Iqbal) and Firdaus (Bahl), two young teachers who find themselves falling in love while reading the diary left by the previous teacher. The diary contains not only emotional stories but also drawings of the previous teacher, which intrigues Kabir and Firdaus. As they read the diary and teach together, they begin to exchange written notes in the notebook at the end of each day as a way to communicate their thoughts and feelings. As they write to each other, their love and bond grow deeper, and they both start to realize their love for each other. However, the romance between Kabir and Firdaus is not a typical one. Firdaus is the daughter of a local school principal who has never met her father and has only recently returned to Kashmir after studying in Mumbai. Kabir, on the other hand, is a young man who has been assigned to this remote school in Kashmir as part of his probationary period. He has no family, no friends, and no experience teaching children.
