Naseem Shah got the ball rolling for Pakistan with the wickets of Nizakat Khan and Babar Hayat. Shahnawaz Dahani then put Hong Kong three down after Yasim Murtaza mistimed his pull. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz took seven wickets between themselves to clean over Hong Kong's middle-order and tail for cheap.
