Patna Metro Project: The work of Patna Metro is now gaining momentum. The nature of its structure and construction work can be seen everywhere. An official related to this said that the primary corridor is between Malahi Pakdi and Patliputra Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and more than 92 pillars have been constructed. According to the official, the civil work on the priority corridor is to be ready by the last quarter of 2024, after which the work on power and rolling stock will begin. The launching of U-Garder has also started. In Priority Corridor (Malahi Pakdi to ISBT), 41 percent work has been completed. The work of erection of cross arm has started for three stations of this corridor namely ISBT, Khemnichak and Bhootnath Road while preparations are underway for erection of cross arm at another station Malahi Pakdi. The target has been kept till 2024 All the pillars to be built on the Priority Corridor are almost ready, on which the work of placing U-Garders is going on. After placing the guard, the base will be ready, on which electric work etc. will be done along with laying the track. Five metro stations Malahi Pakdi, Khemnichak, Bhootnath, Zero Mile and Patliputra Bus Terminal are to be built on this corridor of about seven km length. PATNA: The Station Road area will get the much-needed infrastructural boost by the end of ongoing fiscal year (2023-24), as works on the proposed multi-modal transport hub and the first pedestrian subway under the 'Redevelopment of Station Area' project of the Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), are in full swing. According to officials, the aim of the project is to ensure smooth traffic movement, provide parking space, hassle-free and seamless commuting experience to people at one of the busiest road. The transport hub will serve needs of passengers by hosting various modes of transport options under one roof, which will be operated by Bihar State Road Transport Corporation limited (BSRTC). The 440-metre long subway, will create a direct underground passage for passengers, connecting Patna Junction, multi-level car parking (MLCP) near Buddha Smriti Park and transport hub. In future, it will also help the passengers travelling to and from the metro station, which is proposed to come up near the Patna Junction under Corridor I and Corridor II of the Patna metro rail project. Ishteyaque Alam, manager at Patna Smart City Limited, said about 30 per cent civil work of the state area development has been completed at pedestrian subway and multi-modal transport hub at Bakri Bazaar near Patna GPO. A day after TV screens installed at platform number 10 at Patna railway station played a porn clip, the Railways on Monday said it has cancelled the contract of the agency responsible for relaying advertisements on the screens. In a statement, Virendra Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer, East Central Railway (ECR), said that two FIRs have been registered against the agency, one each by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP). “Taking the abhorrent incident that took place on platform number 10 of Patna Junction on March 19 very seriously… Two FIRs have been registered against Dutta Studio Company Private Limited. One “Also, action is being taken to blacklist the said agency by terminating its contract and all TV screens operated by it have been disconnected/logged out. The incident is being investigated by RPF and GRP so that legal action can be taken,” the statement from ECR said. The clip which was purportedly recorded by a passenger and the blurred version went viral on the Internet.
