About Quiz POSHAN Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) – PM’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 8 March, 2018. The programme strives to reduce the level of stunting, under-nutrition, low birth weight in children and anemia in adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers as well as children “Poshan Maah” is celebrated during the month of September, 2022. Jan Andolan and community mobilization are essential components for effective implementation of Poshan Abhiyaan. The Poshan Maah 2022 Quiz MyGov portal encourages awareness about Food and Nutrition, healthy eating practices, balanced diet, importance of hand washing, use of millets etc. Terms and Conditions 1. Duration of the quiz will be 5 minutes (300 seconds), during which a maximum of 20 questions can be answered. 2. Certificates will be issued to all the participants. 3. There will be no negative marking for the incorrect answer. 4. All Indian Citizens are eligible to participate. 5. An individual can participate only once in the quiz. 6. Any individual who desires to participate in the quiz will be required to provide his/her name, date of birth, correspondence address, email address and mobile number. 7. While Dadar and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu topped among Union Territories (UTs), Punjab and Bihar were the lowest performers among larger states in terms of the overall implementation of Poshan Abhiyaan, as per the government think tank report. It pointed out that only 17 states and UTs had more than 75 per cent of children 12-23 months of age who were fully immunised, while 11 states and UTs had less than 25 per cent fully immunised children. In terms of WCD programme coverage, many states and UTs have distributed take-home rations (THR) to all beneficiaries, according to the report. However, it said, coverage remained low in Bihar (65 per cent pregnant women, 62 per cent lactating women, and 52 per cent children), Punjab (78 per cent pregnant women, 76 per cent lactating women, and 65 per cent children), Sikkim (84 per cent pregnant women, 84 per cent lactating women, and 77 per cent children) and Jammu and Kashmir (49 per cent pregnant women, 51 per cent lactating women, and 54 per cent children). According to the report, 16 states and UTs had more than 75 per cent of children (0-59 months) diarrhoea cases treated with ORS, while there were 5 states and UTs that treated less than 25 per cent of child diarrhoea cases with ORS. This year, the objective is to trigger Poshan Maah through Gram Panchayats as Poshan Panchayats with a key focus on “Mahila aur Swasthya” (Woman and Health) and “Bacha aur Shiksha” (Child and Education). To take the message of good nutrition and its pivotal role to every nook and cranny, various activities will be undertaken throughout the month of September.
