Priya Krishna Biography Priya Krishna won as MLA at a very young age from Govindraj Nagar constituency in 2009. And interestingly, he became the youngest MLA at age 25, who is also the elder son of Karnataka ex-minister, M. Krishnappa. In the 2023 assembly election, he got re-elected from Govindraj constituency by bagging over 50.87 per cent of votes. If we look back to his history, Priya Krishna was an active member of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Party while entering politics in 2003. On Saturday, he filed his nomination papers and declared assets worth Rs 1,020.53 crore. At the age of 29 when he contested the Assembly election for the first time, he had declared assets worth Rs 910.98 crore. In the last five years, his assets have increased by Rs 109.55 crore. Lokayukta files FIR against Cong MLA, son

BANGALORE: On January 16, the Lokayukta court admitted a private complaint against both the MLAs, alleging that they held disproportionate assets. The court then directed Lokayukta police to investigate the charges and file a report by February 18. The case was filed by advocate HC Prakasha under Sec 156 (3) of the Prevention of Corruption Act on January 9. Prakasha accused Krishnappa’s wife Priyadarshini and younger son Pradeep, who is the fourth accused. He alleged that the family gave different asset declarations in front of the EC and Lokayukta and the disparity between them is Rs 700 crore.
