According to police sources, the arrest has been made in connection with the incident of Amritpal Singh fleeing from Hoshiarpur. Amritpal Singh has been absconding since Punjab Police initiated an action against him and his aides on March 18. Amritpal was last traced to Maranaia village in Hoshiarpur on March 28. Following his escape, the Hoshiarpur Police has been continuously conducting search operations to catch him. This is the first arrest made by Punjab Police since Amritpal's escape from Maranaia village. It is also learned that the police have taken several other people into custody in this case and are conducting a thorough investigation on them. They have also found some crucial evidence against Amritpal Singh and his accomplice Pappal Preet Singh, who also fled from Maranaia village.
