Benelli Parent QJ Motor Unveils SRK 400

Most QJ Motor motorcycles offered in developed markets like Europe have been available as Benelli branded models. That said, things are looking to change as the Chinese bikemaker is aiming to take on rivals in European markets with its own brand name. QJ SRK 400 Revealed: Styling Highlights In this regard, the company has introduced its first model for its European lineup which goes on sale in July this year. Called SRK 400, this naked street racer will be the brand’s entry-level motorcycle in Europe. Upon its launch, SRK 400 will be one of the very few models coming from the house of a Chinese brand. This is because the bike has its own identity thanks to a unique design. Speaking of design, SRK 400 is a sharp-looking bike with an aggressive front fascia featuring a split LED headlight flanked by LED turn indicators. It also receives a muscular fuel tank that gives the bike a masculine appeal. Other visual highlights include a floating tail section, split-style seats, an underbelly engine crash guard, a stubby underbelly exhaust and a rear tyre hugger. New QJ SRK 400 The bike’s frame has also been dipped in green paint which creates a nice contrast with the overall colour scheme. Further, yellow-coloured alloy rims also create a pleasant aesthetic appeal on the motorcycle. It also receives sharp tank extensions on either side that results in better aerodynamic properties. Mechanical Specs Powering SRK 400 is a 400cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor that dishes out 41 bhp...

Of late, there’s been an influx of Chinese-owned brands in India that have been garnering plenty of attention. The latest in this line is QJMotor, which has entered our market with four models. The most powerful and expensive of the lot is the SRK400 street naked, and we’ve now spent a few days riding it. QJMotor SRK 400: Engine and performance What is sure to be a big draw for potential buyers is the SRK400’s engine. As the name denotes, it’s a 400cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin that puts out respectable figures of 40.9hp and 37Nm. And they won’t want it just for the specifications, as it also has a very sweet exhaust note, just like the Benelli twins it is based on. Display is too small and basic for a Rs 4 lakh bike. Performance is good too, as the SRK does 0-100kph in 5.86s, which is just 0.01s slower than the new KTM RC 390 we recently tested. As for in-gear acceleration, the QJ betters the KTM’s time in the 20-50kph and 50-80kph runs, but the latter is quicker in the 30-70kph run. The QJ makes its peak power at 9,000rpm so you have to wring it to extract the most from it. But when you do that, you’re faced with what is this motor’s biggest shortcoming. Being a parallel-twin, you’d expect the SRK’s motor to be buttery smooth, but that isn’t the case. While vibrations are nominal at idle, you do start to feel a lot of buzziness on the handlebar and the foot pegs as you begin to pick up the pace. Our test unit was brand new, so a first service should ideally make it a ...

QJ Motor Introduces SRK 400 Naked Bike In Europe

Out of all the Chinese motorcycle manufacturers, QJ Motor, the parent company of Benelli, seems to be the hardest at work when it comes to releasing new models on a regular basis. For the longest time, the brand had limited its operations to inside of China, with its Benelli-branded machines handling the global market. However, starting July 2022, the company will be selling QJ Motor-branded bikes in Europe. The most entry-level model in QJ Motor’s European lineup comes in the form of the SRK 400, a machine that seeks to do battle with the likes of the So, what does the SRK 400 have going for it? Well, for starters, its attractive price tag of 5,800 Euros, or the equivalent of $6,200 USD is one. It’s also pretty decently equipped in terms of performance, too. With 41.5 horsepower on tap, it falls squarely in the middle of the 300 to 400 class in terms of power. The bike features a standard 400cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine, likely with some similarities in architecture as fellow Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMOTO’s 400 NK naked bike. The QJ Motor SRK 400 does, however, show some signs that it was indeed built to a budget. For starters, it's rather heavy—the heaviest in its class, actually, at 186 kilograms ready to ride. That’s 20 kilograms heavier than its European and Japanese rivals; excess baggage that’ll surely make its presence felt in more spirited rides, as well as in fuel efficiency figures. In terms of dimensions, its taller and longer ...
