Samsung Galaxy S23 review: the Android phone for everyone

The S23 also has an IP68 rating, which means it’s fairly dust and water-resistant. If you tend not to use a case or screen protector on your phones, the S23 should be pretty durable. But if you don’t want to leave anything to chance, looking at a The Galaxy S23 has a simple design with rounded corners and slightly curved edges, which reminds me of the old Christine Romero-Chan / Digital Trends The buttons feel good, with a tactile click, and as part of Samsung’s efforts toward sustainability, are even made from recycled materials. Even the speaker grille is made with sustainable materials, and some recycled glass can be found in the Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The packaging and plastic screen cover are also eco-friendly. My favorite part about the S23’s design is just how comfortable the size is and how lightweight it is. At just 5.93 ounces, it’s much lighter and easier to use than my iPhone 14 Pro that clocks in at 7.27 ounces (without my case and MagSafe PopSocket). That’s even more the case when compared to the S23 Ultra at 8.25 ounces. Thanks to the lightweight feel of the Galaxy S23, I found it comfortable to hold for long periods of time and even use comfortably with one hand — though this may be...

Before Upgrading to the Galaxy S23, See How It Compares to Your Samsung Phone

Samsung Event, CNET's collection of news, tips and advice around Samsung's most popular products. Trying to decide whether to upgrade to Samsung's Galaxy S23? It all depends on your budget, as well as the age and condition of your current phone. You'll also want to take into account whether your device will support new versions of Androidin the future. All of these factors are important in determining whether it's the right time to switch to a new device. The Galaxy S23, which starts at $800, has a 6.1-inch screen and a 50-megapixel main camera, just like the Galaxy S22. But the S23 has a larger battery, a new processor and slightly updated camera algorithms that improve the way photos are processed. While these changes are appreciated, the Galaxy S23 is generally a minor improvement over the Galaxy S22. The upgrade is worth it if you're looking to replace a phone you've had for several years, ideally one that's more than two years old. Even the Galaxy S21, which launched in 2021, likely still has enough life left to make it through another year. With the Galaxy S23, Samsung addressed my biggest concern about the Galaxy S22: its short battery life. The new phone has a larger battery (3,900 mAh compared to 3,700), which has made a difference in my testing. Otherwise, compared to the Galaxy S22, you're getting a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that's been optimized for the new Galaxy lineup specifically, while the Galaxy S22 runs on last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 c...

The Galaxy S23 Plus has a bigger screen, larger battery, and more storage than its cheaper sibling — all while being significantly more affordable than its Ultra counterpart. The front and rear glass are both covered with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the metal frame gets Samsung’s Armor Aluminum treatment. Paired with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, the S23 Plus has all of the durability chops you could ask for (though I’d still recommend looking at Unlike the flat edges and sharp corners found on the significantly lighter than the S23 Ultra’s 8.25-ounce body. It’s still a big phone, but the S23 Plus is vastly easier to handle one-handed and throw in a tight pocket than the Ultra is. Samsung also does a great job with the finer details. The buttons are tactile and clicky, the in-screen fingerprint sensor is tremendously fast, and — though a bit bland for my liking — the Lavender color of my review unit looks quite nice.
