About 40 people were arrested and mostly detained for their involvement in Kakori conspiracy. However, the main freedom fighters were hanged for a train robbery that was prominent in the history of India's independence. December 19 is marked as the death anniversary of the three revolutionaries for their brave deeds. The Kakori train robbery was a conspiracy weaved against the British Empire to help Indian freedom fighters achieve freedom as soon as possible. Ram Prasad Bismil ideated that the political dacoities must take place. A train at Kakori on the Lucknow-Saharanpur section was looted by freedom fighters.
