Voltage regulation of transformer is defined as the percentage change in the transformer secondary voltage from no load to full load. In other words, the transformer voltage regulation describes the ability of the transformer to provide the constant voltage from no load to full load.



To convert DC voltage, electronic circuits such as rectifiers and inverters are used. These circuits can convert DC voltage to AC voltage and then use transformers to step up or step down the voltage as required. In conclusion, transformers cannot be used to convert DC voltage due to the principle of electromagnetic induction on which they operate.
