The word impossible is not in my dictionary. Napoleon – child of earth

There is a famous quote from Napoleon that goes “There is no such word as ‘impossible’ in my dictionary”. I think it is a phrase that everyone has heard at least once. The correct name is “Napoleon Bonaparte”. He was an emperor of France who was active in the early 19th century and was known as a military leader. There are various theories about the translation, but it can be understood as “If it is within the realm of my abilities, then nothing is impossible for me. Even if there were a dictionary, the word ‘impossible’ should not be in it.” Napoleon was a genius and a dedicated person This quote, “There is no such word as ‘impossible’ in my dictionary,” is said to have been spoken by Napoleon on July 21, 1798, in front of the Pyramids of Giza during his expedition to Egypt. He was intellectually gifted from a young age, excelling in mathematics and even graduating early. He became famous for orchestrating a coup against the French Directory government, effectively ending the French Revolution. Additionally, Napoleon continued to love one woman, Josephine de Beauharnais, whom he married at the age of 27 and treasured. Although they could not have children, he famously called out Josephine’s name even as he was dying. Did Napoleon really say it? In Japan, the phrase “There is no such word as ‘impossible’ in my dictionary” is translated as above, but in France, it is said that the word “impossible” is not appropriate. Some people think that the phrase has evolved over time ...

What does it mean when a word is not in the dictionary?

Sometimes you’ll see a word you’re not sure of, so you look it up in a dictionary – and are words – they just don’t happen to be in that dictionary. This is especially likely with rare, No English dictionary includes every single word – not even the Oxford English Dictionary. The OED is a historical reference work that records the English lexicon from its earliest days, but it doesn’t rush to add new and emerging usages, preferring to wait a few years to see if they become more established in the language. Nor does the OED – or any other dictionary – include every word from the many Macmillan Dictionary, by contrast, includes historical words only if they’re still in common use. Take snowflake. You may have seen this word used recently in contexts that had nothing to do with cold weather, but rather in political arguments. If you wanted to know what it meant, you would find snowflake generation, in my recent post about But because it’s so new, this sense of snowflake has yet to appear in fleek, bae, Brexitophobia and company – can be covered and, if appropriate, later dropped So if you look up a word and it’s not in the dictionary you checked – and assuming it’s not misspelt or nonsense, like bookmrak or ghghvufdw – then try another dictionary. For example, if it seems like slang, check Green’s Dictionary of Slang. And if you’re still Hello Tonya and thanks for your query. I had never seen this word used and it is not very frequent, although there is a typically humorous U...

words not saved in my dictionary

I have asked this question before. I have re-booted my computer which I do on occasion, now the dictionary tells me numerous times that my saved words (specific to my work) are not saved. I am working with Office 365 Personal. This dictionary thing has caused me problems before. I am tired of having to re-add spellings to it. What is the problem???? Previously I was using 365 Home and now it has been upgraded to 365 Personal and is a pain in the butt. So who has the answer here? Anyone at all?? Microsoft causes me nothing but headaches and is a total rip-off. You should be ashamed of the simplest of tasks being turned into the non-simplest. I just need to type and get my work finished without extra time correcting/adding things. Please do not tell me to find out how to manage the dictionary or whatever other time-consuming thing one of you might come up with.
