About State Central Library The administration of the State Central Library is vested with the State Librarian, who is the Head of the Department. There is an Advisory Committee with Sri. CP Nair retired Chief Secretary to Government, as Chairman and State Librarian as Convenor with official and non official member's duly constituted by the Government from time to time. Two Deputy State Librarians assist the State Librarian in Library, academic and the Administrative Assistant to the State Librarian assist the State Librarian in the Administrative, Accounts and Audit matters.

Library Services

Course reserves are materials placed in the library by faculty members for student use. Reserve materials are kept behind the circulation desk and available for in-library use. Students must use their CSU ID to check out items which typically have a 2-hour or 4-hour checkout period. Find course reserves in the HALLIE library catalog by searching by instructor’s last name, or by the course name or number • Interlibrary Loan Interlibrary Loan service is provided for materials that are not readily available at Central State or via OhioLINK. Before submitting a request, verify that Central State does not have access to the material(s) by using the HALLIE library catalog, OhioLINK library catalog, or an electronic database. When requesting an article from a serial publication, please match the serial title with the volume number, date of issue, and place of publication. Be sure to include pagination, title, and author of the article. • • • Interinstitutional Borrowing Registered students, faculty, and staff can request materials online using the OhioLINK or SearchOhio library catalog. Materials such as books and audiovisual items that are not available locally can be requested and delivered to Central State University (CSU) within 3-5 business days, or another pickup location from the list of OhioLINK libraries. City Central Library, Jayanagar Just across the South End Circle Metro station This large library, set up in 1968, has been a big favourite with readers in southern Bengaluru. It was closed during the pandemic from May 2021 to June 2021, but now has Covid protocols in place and is getting a steady stream of readers. However, visitors have dwindled since pre-Covid days. “Many members are using our digital library,” says librarian Shivshankar Murthy. The library has about 38,700 active members. Spread on two floors, it has 1.63 lakh books and 115 periodicals, ranging from fiction to non-fiction to works in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, and competitive exam guides. The library attracts a large number of newspaper and magazine readers as well as students from coaching centres from across the street. Membership: Rs 200 for life. You can borrow 3 books for 15 days; non-members can only read on the premises. City Central Library, Hampinagar Less than 500 meters from Attiguppe metro station This library was established in 2003 and has been a cultural hub, in addition to being a library. They hold cultural events on national holidays like Independence Day and Republic Day, and also observe occasions like National Library Week, Librarian’s day and National Book Day.
