Elevated, Piling and Stilt House Plans

Elevated house plans are primarily designed for homes located in flood zones. The foundations for these home designs typically utilize pilings, piers, stilts or CMU block walls to raise the home off grade. Many lots in coastal areas (seaside, lake and river) are assigned base flood elevation certificates which dictate how high off the ground the first living level of a home must be built. The height is determined by flood maps created by FEMA and enforced by local building departments. Beyond flood protection, elevated house plan designs offer usable space underneath the home for parking and storage and also create opportunities to take advantage of water views. • • Two Garages • Balcony • Courtyard • Cupola/Tower/Widows Watch/Lookout • Deck/Porch on Front • Deck/Porch on Left side • Deck/Porch on Rear • Deck/Porch on Right Side • Elevated House Plans • Garage Entry - Front • Garage Entry - Rear • Garage Entry - Side • L-Shaped • Lanai • Metal Roof • Narrow Lot House Plans • Outdoor Fireplace • Outdoor Kitchen • Outdoor Shower • Pool • Rafter Tails • Rooftop Deck • Wraparound Porch Plans copyright © 1998-2022 by their respective designers & architects. The Florida state legislature then took steps to prohibit stilt houses from being rebuilt. After Pasco County residents fought back, the houses were “grandfathered in,” allowing homeowners to rebuild — with some important stipulations. “Those of us who lost our camps in the 1968 storm were allowed to rebuild, but our locations were pinpointed and now we rent an acre of underwater land,” Maxine Swartsel Gause said in an article in the Tampa Tribune. “The st...
