The second partial solar eclipse/ Surya Grahan of 2022 will take place on October 25, 2022. It will be visible from Europe, the Urals and Western Siberia, Central Asia and Western Asia, and from the north-east of Africa. The maximal phase of the partial eclipse will be recorded on West Siberian Plain in Russia near Nizhnevartovsk. In Odisha, the solar eclipse will be visible from 4.56 PM. Surya Grahan October 2022 Sutak timings: The second and the last Solar Eclipse of 2022 will occur today. This year, sky gazers and astronomy enthusiasts have already witnessed one Partial Solar Eclipse (Surya Grahan) on April 30 and one Total Lunar Eclipse (Purna Chandra Grahan) on the intervening night of May 15th and 16th. And the last Total Lunar Eclipse and celestial phenomenon are expected to occur on November 7th and 8th. However, a Grahan is not a mere astronomical movement but an inauspicious occurrence for practising Hindus. According to religious beliefs, a Grahan affects people and their natal charts in more ways than one. Therefore, to negate the adverse effects of the celestial phenomena, people abide by the Sutak rules (period of absentation). And today, when a Surya Grahan is expected to take place, Sutak will be applicable. Hence, read on to know the time.

However, the same cannot be seen from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and some parts of north-east India (the names of a few of such places are Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Sibsagar, Silchar, Tamelong, etc.)," according to a government release. Solar eclipse time in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru"The duration of the eclipse from the beginning up to sunset time will be 1 hr 13 min and 1 hr 19 min for both Delhi and Mumbai respectively. In Chennai and Kolkata, the duration of the eclipse from the beginning up to sunset time will be 31 minutes and 12 minutes, respectively," the government release added.
