Rameswaram is a serene and peaceful pligrimage to visit. We reached Madurai airport and had a car waiting to take us to Rameswaram. We reached Rameswaram and had food at Hotel Aryaas (near West Gate within the Goswami Mutt Trust). It is a good south Indian joint where we got dosas and idlifor dinner We checked into 2 nights at Hotel Sremethila for Executive room. Its a new property which is about 2 kms from West Gate. It is near Rameswaram Railway Junction. Staff is always ready to help and gave us correct advice on our visit including having wonderful Puja. Breakfast was good but options were few (Dosa, idli, fruits, flakes, poori potato veggie, pongal and hot beverage). They close breakfast at 10 am. On First Day, we hired a guide that took us to Mani Darshan (10 inch Shiva Linga which was worshipped by Adi Shankaracharya) at 5 am. It is better to take the Rs. 200 per head ticket to avoid waiting in line. They have option of Rs. 100 per head Rs. 50 per head and free darshan line.
