Australia beat India by a whopping 209-run margin in an utter display of domination in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final, which has once again raised the questions on the Indian cricket team's ability to perform in the biggest games. This was India's second successive loss in the WTC Final, having lost to New Zealand in 2021. Not just that, but India's shambolic record in the knockout stages of ICC events continues as they lost their eighth consecutive semi-final/final. Although India were chasing the game for the majority of this Test, they were actually in a really good position at Stumps on Day 4. India were 164/3 at the end of Day 4, requiring 280 more runs. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane stood tall and had already put on 71 runs for the 4th wicket. Both players looked in great nick and it gave India and their fans a lot of hope heading into the final day of the Test. However, the batting lineup collapsed like a pack of cards in the 1st Session on Day 5, and that has seriously raised eyebrows on the Indian batsmen.
