And we're going to keep adding more movies, so stay tuned to see the best streaming movies for the next time you pop a bag of popcorn. Oh, and we're about to add one more movie to this list, so, get ready to (Image credit: Netflix) Erich Maria Remarque, author of the 1928 novel All Quiet on the Western Front, hoped another anti-war movie would not be needed — as his film was meant to convince the powers that be to stop war from happening. As we know, that didn't happen. But, then a 1930 film based on the novel was so lauded that you might assume nobody would think another movie based on the novel was necessary. Edward Berger's 2022 version, the third film based on the novel, proves that the experience of Paul Bäumer (Felix Kammerer), is unfortunately evergreen. Compelled to enlist due to visions of being a war hero imbued in his brain by propaganda, Bäumer soon discovers that the battlefield isn't the path to glory. The 7 Best New Movies on Amazon Prime Video in June 2023

“Crazy Rich Asians” (2016) Warner Bros. Adapted from Kevin Kwan’s book, “Crazy Rich Asians” took big strides for the AAPI community when it hit theaters in 2016. With an all-star cast of Constance Wu, Gemma Chan, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, Harry Shum Jr., Ken Jeong, Nico Santos and more the film took representation to a whole new level. This rom-com provides an emotional rollercoaster of a viewing experience as it follows a Chinese-American professor (Wu) who travels to Singamore to meet her boyfriend’s (Golding) family, only to discover they’re one of the richest families in the country. “Interstellar” (2014) Paramount Pictures Matthew McConaughey’s Joseph Cooper gets tested in many ways in this galactic film from director Christopher Nolan. After getting recruited to find a viable habitat on a new planet since Earth is no longer sustainable, Cooper sets off with astronaut Brand (Anne Hathaway) to travel through a wormhole, leaving behind his kids Murph (Mackenzie Foy, Jessica Chastain) and Tom (Timothée Chalamet, Casey Affleck). Themes of time, love and sacrifice abound in this decades-spanning (and eye-popping) adventure. “Love, Rosie” (2014) Lionsgate/Constantin Film Before “Daisy Jones & the Six” and “Emily in Paris,” Sam Claflin and Lily Collins starred in the romantic comedy “Love, Rosie.” Claflin’s “Daisy Jones” co-star Suki Waterhouse plays his character Alex’s distracting love interest Bethany. Talk about a ‘Will They? Won’t They?’ situation — the s...

Over the past year or so, Netflix and Apple TV+ have been duking it out to have the most prestigious film offerings ( CODA!), but that doesn’t mean some of the best movies aren't on Amazon Prime. The streamer was one of the first to go around picking up film festival darlings and other lovable favorites, and they’re all still there in the library, so if they flew under your radar the first time, now is the perfect time to catch up. Our picks for the 10 best films on Amazon Prime are below. All the films in our guide are included in your Prime subscription—no renting here. Once you’ve watched your fill, check out our lists for the Sure, nowadays Michael Jordan is a bona fide sports god, and Nike’s Air Jordan sneakers are still arguably the court trainer—but that wasn’t the case back in 1984. Jordan was a rookie, and Nike was about to close down its basketball shoe division. Enter Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon), a talent scout for the footwear maker who’s spotted a rising star in North Carolina who could turn everything around—he just needed to convince everyone else that Jordan was worth betting the company on. We all know how that panned out, so thankfully Air is more than a two-hour advert for shoes. Damon, Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, and director Ben Affleck all deliver strong performances—only to be utterly eclipsed by Viola Davis in a magnetic and powerful, if somewhat underutilised, turn as matriarch Deloris Jordan—while Alex Convery’s script keeps the drama on the peopl...

Best Prime Video movies: 29 top films to stream in June 2023

Cate Blanchett is mesmerizing as fictional conductor Lydia Tár. (Image credit: Universal Pictures) Best described as a psychological drama, Tár is about a fictional conductor called Lydia Tár (played by Cate Blanchett), known all over the world for her talent and passion. However, she faces numerous accusations of misconduct and must navigate what that means while she experiences a worrying sensitivity to sound, nightmares, pain and hallucinations. This certainly isn't a feel-good film, but we highly recommend it for a no holds barred look at the intoxicating side effects of power and it won so big during awards season for a reason. At times the movie is tense and fast-flowing, but at others it lingers and is deeply meditative. Giving us an opportunity to burrow under the skin of the mostly impenetrable Lydia Tár. Needless to say, the always fantastic Cate Blanchett is truly phenomenal as Lydia Tár – you won't be able to take your eyes off her. Silver Linings Playbook Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have fantastic chemistry as Tiffany and Pat in David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook. (Image credit: The Weinstein Company) Silver Linings Playbook is best described as a romantic comedy-slash-drama, written and directed by David O'Russell (known for American Hustle and Joy, among others) and based on a 2008 Matthew Quick novel of the same name. It follows the story of Patrizio "Pat" Solitano Jr. (played by Bradley Cooper), a recently divorced man with bipolar who mov...
