In the 'Train Running Status’ form, simply enter the five-digit train number or the name of the train. Select the date of journey from the source railway station. This will display the arrival and departure time of your train for your boarding railway station. Our service status tool is designed to give you a quick snapshot of any service issues that may affect your trips. The service status tells you if your train is running “express to local,” if there are “buses detoured,” or if you should “expect delays” during planned work that requires us to run trains less frequently or at slower speeds. When you click on a status, you’ll see a service alert that explains the service change, the reason for the change, and alternate travel options. Our customer experience teams monitor subway, bus, and rail service and translate the impact of disruptions into service alerts. We produce service statuses and alerts so that you can make the best travel decisions for you. You see these service statuses on screens in subway stations and onboard buses, on our homepage, in the MYmta app, the MTA TrainTime apps, and in other popular transit apps. While we are continuously working to provide more targeted, helpful information, one downfall of line-wide alerts is that service statuses may or may not apply to an entire line. When A trains run local in Brooklyn, Inwood riders may not notice any difference. We aim to alert you when disruptions affect a significant portion of a line’s riders, or when headways are significantly impacted. Starting Wednesday, June 21 at 7:00 a.m., Metra will close Rodenburg Road to replace the railroad crossing. Local traffic will be unable to cross the tracks. Detour signs will be posted. Those wishing to park in the south lot (Roselle side) should do so via Travis Parkkway and Gary Ave. Crews will be working through the weekend and expect the Rodenburg Road railroad crossing to reopen on Thursday, June 29 at 7:00 a.m. The north half of platform #2 at the Clybourn station is closed for rehabilitation. Once completed, the work will begin on the south half of platform #2 and into platform #1. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of July. Please allow addtional time to access the in-service platform and exercise caution near the work zones. A) In general, RailYatri is a full-stack information and booking platform. Specifically, on running train status, RailYatri has the most frequent and real-time updates of train location. RailYatri collects train location data in a crowd-sourced manner from the GPS or Cell-Tower network of mobile phones of its users. Thus this data is more precise and real-time. We recommend our users to use the RailYatri app which also works offline if the user is enroute journey. In summary, RailYatri’s source of data is crowdsourced status shared by users who are on the train. A) Offline live train status means that no internet connection is required to find the live train status and ETA of train at the upcoming station. This needs the one-time download of the time table or the route on the user’s phone. Post that if the user is on a train then he can find the exact location of the train and track the ETA in offline mode as well. This feature is very useful since railway tracks do not always have full network coverage. Hence, we recommend our users to use the RailYatri app for hassle-free travel.
