Raman Raghav 2.0: Vicky Kaushal slayed Anurag Kashyap’s film, and his face was barely even visible in the best scene

Premium Raman Raghav 2.0: Vicky Kaushal slayed Anurag Kashyap’s film, and his face was barely even visible in the best scene Post Credits Scene: Director Anurag Kashyap's underrated masterpiece Raman Raghav 2.0 is a stern indictment of toxic Indian masculinity, and it wouldn't have been as effective without Vicky Kaushal's searing performance. Vicky Kaushal barely appears in the first hour of Raman Raghav 2.0, a film in which he ostensibly plays the protagonist, Raghav. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Ramanna undoubtedly has the ‘bigger’ scenes, he’s essentially a supporting character in Raghav’s story. Brutally nihilistic, darkly comedic and unpredictable to the point of being taunting, Raman Raghav 2.0 remains an underrated entry in director Anurag Kashyap’s singular filmography. It’s the film that cemented Kaushal’s stature as Hindi cinema’s most talented new leading man. After breaking out with the stunning Also read | Cheap dark glasses forever masking his permanently bloodshot eyes, an oddly-gripped cigarette balanced between his fingers, and a temper quicker than death by gunshot to the face, Raghav is a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off. He represents the worst in our country’s male population. Raman Raghav 2.0 arrived four years after the 2012 New But this isn’t his best scene in the film. That comes perhaps an hour earlier, and you barely even see his face in it. As Raghav washes up after an intense lovemaking scene—I use that term loosely—Simi (played by Tune...

Govinda Naam Mera review: Twitter is in awe of Vicky

It has comedy, a bit of action and lots of thrill – that’s Govinda Naam Mera for you. Vicky Kaushal as the husband who’s scared of his wife and daydreams about his girlfriend makes for a pitiable man. Watching him juggle his time between his wife Gauri (Bhumi Pednekar) and Suku (Kiara Advani) is nothing short of hilarious. As for the early reviews that have started pouring in for Govinda Naam Mera, the film is touted to be precocious and a perfect blend of humour and suspenser. Didn’t expect the cliff-hanger bit? Well, that’s where this Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar starrer aces it. It engages the audience in such a rollercoaster ride that the viewers are unable to predict what’s coming next. Govu née Govind Waghmare (Vicky Kaushal) is a choreographer who’s trying to make it big but gets brutally trolled by his wife at all times for being coward and timid. It is at this point that things take a U-turn, and the viewers are in for a quirky ride. True to its name, Govinda Naam Mera does give some Govinda like vibes as well. Wondering how? Well, we don’t really have actor Govinda making an entry in the flick but expect moves like his in the Bijli song. Speaking of making a head turning entry, it’s Tu Jhooti Mai Makkaar teaser along with Shraddha Kapoor. Govinda Naam Mera Twitter review Here’s what Twitterati has to say about Vicky Kaushal’s movie.
