It is the process where you answer questions about your luggage, your travel details, confirm your booking ID, seat choices, and meal choices, similar to checking in via counters in the airport. Once done, you can print out the boarding pass or get it in your email. So, once you complete web check in, you are ready with a boarding pass in hand before reaching the airport.
