The first-ever season of Emerging Women's Asia Cup T20 began on June 12 (Monday) in Hong Kong. The India 'A' squad announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the Emerging Women's Asia Cup 2023 in Hong Kong is being captained by Shweta Sehrawat, who was part of the Under-19 Women's World Cup winning team. She was the highest run-getter in Women's U-19 World Cup with 297 runs in 7 innings. The tournament, featuring five A teams of full-member nations, will be played from June 12 to 21. As per the official schedule, India 'A' will play their first Emerging Women's Asia Cup T20 match against Hong Kong on 13th June (Tuesday). The BCCI announced the team on Friday. India are in Group 'A' along with Hong Kong 'A', Thailand 'A', Pakistan 'A', while Bangladesh 'A', Sri Lanka 'A', Malaysia and UAE 'A' are in Group 'B'. Image Source : TWITTER ACC Women's Emerging Teams Cup 2023 Captains ACC Women's Emerging Teams Cup 2023 will kick off on June 12 with eight Asia teams battling in the inaugural edition in Hong Kong. Four senior national teams from Associate nations and four 'A' sides from ODI-Status teams will participate in a ten-day tournament. Indian women's A team will be led by the opener Shweta Sehrawat and they will begin their campaign against host nation Hong Kong on June 13. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh enter the tournament with their 'A' side while Associate nations Hong Kong, Malaysia, UAE, and Nepal will make it an eight-team tournament. Teams are divided into two groups with India being placed in Group A with Pakistan, Nepal, and Hong Kong. Teams will play in a single round-robin format and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-final round. All matches will be played at Mong Kok's Mission Road Ground, including a final on June 21.
