The meeting of 12 YSRC regional coordinators assumed significance in the wake of the defeat of the party in the graduates’ constituencies and MLC election under the MLA quota. Following alleged cross-voting by a few legislators in the MLC election under the MLA quota, the party suspended four MLAs. Some of the ruling party legislators were also facing dissidence from YSRC cadres and the party leadership wants to focus on resolving the same so that it does not mar the prospects of the party in the coming elections. During the meeting, Jagan said there is only one year left for the elections and the regional coordinators should take the responsibility of strengthening the party at the district level.“Resolve the differences among YSRC leaders, if any, and ensure that the party candidates win the elections with a good majority,’’ he said. Jagan also asked the coordinators to openly discuss with him any party-related issue and can meet him at any time. “You are my top team,’’ he asserted. Synopsis Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased in the train derailment in Odisha's Balasore. Jagan said that the job calendar was first-of-its-kind in the state, where the unemployed would know the exact month of the release of notification for jobs and the number of posts that are vacant. He said that the entire process will be done in a transparent way without corruption or discrimination or involvement of middlemen. The recruitment will be based on marks obtained in the written test conducted by the government without any interview process, he said. Jagan pointed out that the government had released the job calendar to boost confidence among youth. Recalling his two-year governance, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that almost over one lakh jobs were created within four months of forming the government. ‘Over 6 lakh posts filled in two years’ The state had filled a total 6,03,756 jobs in the last two years, which includes 1.22 lakh permanent jobs in the village and ward secretariats. He said that the volunteer system was brought in to increase the sense of service among the unemployed youth, and thus recruited 2.50 lakh youngsters as volunteers. Of the total 6.03 lakh jobs created, 1,84,264 were created on a regular basis, 3,99,791 are outsourced and 19,701 are on contract basis. The government had hiked the salaries for 7,02,656 jobs who were paid with a meagre amount in the previous government. The e-autos worth Rs 22.18 crore will be deployed in 36 municipalities in the State for garbage collection in an eco-friendly manner. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister A Suresh said the State government took several initiatives to curb pollution in the local bodies. “The e-autos are being allotted to the small urban local bodies. AMARAVATI: In a remarkable turnaround, Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released the socio-economic survey (SES) readied by the planning department of the state for 2022-23 on Wednesday. The SES stated that AP posted a growth of 16.22% over the previous year based on the advanced estimates. According to the SES, Gross Value Addition (GVA) in agriculture and allied sectors reported a decent 13.18% growth while agriculture sector alone reported 20.72 percent growth while horticulture sector achieved 12.58% growth rate. Similarly, the livestock sector reported 7.32% growth rate while fisheries reported 19.41% of GVA. The SES said that the industry sector witnessed a GVA of 16.36% while Mining and quarrying reported 15.81% GVA. It said that the manufacturing sector reported 11.81%. The analysis of the planning department put the GVA of electricity, gas and other sectors at 30.96% and construction sector at 16.94%. It said that the services sector achieved a stunning 18.91% GVA while trade and hotels sector reported 28.42%. It said that railways achieved 17.82%. SES said that transport by other means reported a GVA of 21.64% while the real estate sector achieved 13.14%. “It is notable that the growth rate is 16.43 percent while GVA in all the sectors witnessed double-digit growth rate.
