Delhi Zoo Reopens, Tickets Now Only Available Online; Sold Out Overnight Delhi Zoo: Only 4,000 visitors are allowed in the zoo in a day in two slots - 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The ticket counters outside the zoo have already been closed. So, people are requested to book tickets online only, two to three days in advance. New Delhi: The Delhi zoo reopened for visitors today after remaining closed for around two months in view of a rise in COVID-19 cases in the national capital, officials said. The zoo was closed for the public on January 4 and the online ticket booking link on its website was disabled. An official said the link was reactivated last night and all 4,000 tickets were sold by 8:30 am when the zoo reopened. "The ticket counters outside the zoo have already been closed. So, people are requested to book tickets online only two to three days in advance to avoid any inconvenience," he said. White tiger kills youth at Delhi zoo: Here's what really happened

New Delhi: In a hair-raising incident, witnessed by scores and captured live on many cameras, a 200-kg white tiger mauled and killed a youth after he fell into the animal's moat in the Delhi Zoo, eyewitnesses and officials said Tuesday. The incident, which took place between 12.30 pm and 1 pm, created a sensation and word soon spread through the city, with photos and video of the tiger - one of the zoo's star attractions - dragging the youth going viral. Eyewitnesses and zoo officials said the young man, identified as Maksood, 20, a resident of Anand Parbat in Delhi, had "crossed the stand-off barrier" of the white tiger's enclosure and then fell or jumped into the moat which separated the enclosure from the visitors' gallery.
