If you are into being surrounded by screaming selfie obsessed couples and enjoy sunbathing surrounded by plastic rubbish, in and out of the sea, this beach is for you. This once a beautiful secluded beach really was a butterfly beach with a small sweet water lagoon that was fed by the water coming from the forests. All this is now gone and has been replaced during the season by endless fishing boats dropping off and picking up noisy tourists who seem more interested it selfies than surf. The back end of the beach is like one giant rubbish dump of broken shoes, nappies , broken glass, plastic bottles, crisp packets and so on. Scooters and jeeps have created dirt roads to this beach and like everywhere, is being destroyed. The valley here is known as leopard valley so the built a huge night club in the middle of it. And so the butterflies have now gone. We absolutely recommend taking a boat trip from Palolem or Agonda to explore nearby shores and if you are lucky see dolphins in waters around these beaches. Boats are not expensive, crews are friendly and it's a good and safe experience for families with kids. I do not recommend staying on the Butterfly beach. The minute we left the boat we wanted to go back out. The beach could be a local gem but it's overcrowded with not much to do and it's filled with rubbish. Butterfly Beach is the prettiest beach in Santa Barbara County. This palm lined beach has soft, white sand, and is hemmed in by a sea wall with a beautiful stone balustrade. It's named after the monarch butterflies that once inhabited the native grasses along the beach. There’s free parking along Channel Drive, then take the ramp or stairs to the beach. There are no public facilities like restrooms, picnic tables or lifeguards, and dogs must be on a leash. I loved this beach. It was amazing. Not the blue clear seas promised it had every sandy water but was very clean. The best thing about this place was the clean beach after visiting the beaches of north Goa that were absolutely filthy, full of rubbish and drunks this beach was the complete opposite. Beautiful white sand, cleaners on the beach. It looked beautiful with palm trees swaying and was very quiet in April. Lots of choices for shacks and sun beds. I can’t wait to visit again. This is a very beautiful sandy beach with romantic sun sets. The beach is surrounded with many hotels, you can just choose what is suitable for you. There is a best Ayurveda massage Center placed at Flavia Paradise, near Samson´s kiosk on Palolem beach. The masseur Nawab and his wife Afsana, they both are really very good masseurs who have experience of 15 years. There is a big advert on the beach about their massage centre. I really recommend to get an Ayurveda massage from them. They do full body massage, deep tissue massage, stone massage, facial and back massage, also foot massage. I very much enjoyed their deep tissue massage and they have better price than other places have in Palolem. If you have back or hip pain, Nawab and Afsana truly help you to get better.
