By India Today Web Desk: Two people, including gangster Raju Theth, were shot dead and one person was injured when five people believed to be part of a rival gang opened fire in Rajasthan's Sikar on Saturday. According to reports, Theth was killed when a few miscreants opened fire at him at the entrance to his house on Piprali Road in Sikar at around 9.30 am. Police have arrested four suspects from Haryana - identified as Himanshu, Satish, Jatin and Naveen alias Boxer. After the gangster was shot down, police are trying to investigate who could have been behind the murder, although a person named Rohit Godara has claimed responsibility for his death. A bandh was also called by Raju Theth's supporters in the Lakshamgarh town of Sikar district on Sunday. Theth was gunned down by five men at the gate of his house his residence in Sikar’s Udyog Nagar area on the morning of December 3. According to police, Theth had more than 30 criminal cases against him. He used to live a luxurious life and had political ambitions. The gangster had shifted to Jaipur a year ago and was arrested in a case of land grab and extortion in March. He had started living in a luxurious house in the Swej farm area along with his armed bodyguards and aides. He used to roam around in the area with security personnel, however, after police took action against him and mounted pressure, he moved to Sikar. Theth, who was in his 40s, was out on bail. The gangster had a rivalry with the dreaded criminal Anandpal Singh, killed in a police encounter in June 2017. A man named Rohit Godara, who introduced himself as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the killing on Facebook, saying it was to avenge the death of Anandpal Singh and Balbir Banuda.
