Mata Katyayani is a form of Maa Durga, worshipped on the 6th day of Navratri. She was born to destroy Demon Mahishasura. She is worshiped as the Adi shakti Swaroop who would give you the husband you have prayed and worshipped for if you make a vow of fasting. There was panic everywhere, and no one understood how to fight the devil. The Devas visited Vishnu for help.
