So I'm well aware of the current cast wheel This new sub model deserves it's own focus thread imo. The new spoke wheels and new off road electronics package will bring in a new group of buyers (many non-KTM) as it represents the next evolution of the 19/17" spoke wheel ADV bike formula. The smallest spoke wheel mini ADV to date to date. So who's getting one? Should be in dealerships next month. My local dealer said they are getting a lot of interest now it comes with spoke wheels. I'm very hot on the ADV-R model, but this SW variation actually might be a better bike for me overall. Can't wait to see one in the flesh! And then mounted with more agressive tires and skid plate. The KTM 390 Adventure is powered by the same 373cc single cylinder engine as that on the 390 Duke, albeit with a revised exhaust system and slightly beefier counter balancer. Rated at 44 horsepower, the powerful engine is further complemented by the bike's premium WP Apex suspension which features adjustability both front and rear. To add to this, the 390 Adventure is equipped with a slew of sophisticated rider aids such as cornering ABS, traction control, and even an optional quick shifter. One thing that's missing from the 390 Adventure, but is found on its bigger sibling, the 790 Adventure, is a set of off-road capable spoked wheels. Granted, of course, the 390 Adventure isn't designed to be a full-fledged off-roader, and its robust alloy wheels will most likely withstand considerable punishment offroad. However, fitting a set of spoked wheels undoubtedly opens more possibilities for off-road adventure—the rugged aesthetics it affords the bike is a nifty plus, too. Luckily, KTM has finally released a set of spoked wheels designed specifically for the KTM 390 Adventure. Now an option in the KTM Powerparts catalogue, the new spoked wheel upgrade is only available in Europe and Asia at the moment. The touring-oriented S variant earned radar-assisted cruise control in the process, while the off-road-biased R trim leaned into the Austrian firm’s rally roots. Aside from the new shoes, the 2023 390 Adventure remains predominately unchanged. The pokey 373cc thumper still headlines the package, mustering 44 horsepower (at 9000 rpm) and 27.3 lb-ft of torque (at 7000 rpm). The steel trellis frame and subframe strike a balance between responsiveness, flex, and comfort, while the 43mm WP Apex fork and shock adapt to both asphalt and dirt. Rider aids such as traction control and cornering ABS prioritize safety, but the 390 doesn’t skimp on performance either. An Off-Road ride mode allows more rear wheel slip and linked Off-Road ABS disengages intervention aft while reducing actuation at the front. The 19” front and 17” wheels are characterized by KTM as heavy-duty and light, featuring black anodized aluminum rims shod with Continental TKC70 tires. For bump absorption, the bike is equipped with WP Suspension APEX hardware which is adjustable for compression and rebound up front, along with preload and rebound in the rear. Thanks to ex-Baja Champ Quinn Cody, who helped develop suspension specs for the Americas and Europe, the 390 has good spring rates and a range of damping settings so you aren’t stuck with whatever comes from the factory. At the heart of the machine is the same 4-stroke 373cc single-cylinder engine pumping out 43 hp at 9000 rpm and 27.3 ft-lbs of torque at 7000 rpm.
