नवरात्रि की सप्तमी तिथि को माता का कालरात्रि रूप का पूजन किया जाता है। इनका रूप अन्य रूपों से अत्यंत भयानक है, लेकिन माता अत्यंत दयालु-कृपालु हैं। ऐसे लोग जो किसी कृत्या प्रहार से पीड़ित हो एवं उन पर किसी अन्य तंत्र-मंत्र का प्रयोग हुआ हो, वे इनकी साधना कर शत्रुओं से निवृत्ति पा सकते हैं। मंत्र इस प्रकार है- इस कालरात्रि की आराधना प्रत्येक पीड़ित व्यक्ति को करना चाहिए। नागदौन का पौधा ग्वारपाठे के समान होता हैं। ग्वारपाठे के पत्ते दिखने में चिकने, मोटे व दोनों धारों में कांटेयुक्त होता है, तो नागदौन के पत्ते आकार में पतले, सूखे और तलवार के जैसे दोनों ओर से धार वाले होने के साथ-साथ बीच में से मुड़े हुए होते हैं।
