The healthcare sector is booming, due to a growing population that will require increasing care with age. Baby Boomers—those born between 1946 and 1964—are With large segments of the population entering their senior years and others with growing families, health professionals will be in demand to meet these increasing needs. Fortunately, there is no shortage of promising healthcare careers in 2023. Methodology Here’s how we broke down the top 50 health careers for 2022: Career Growth Career growth (as predicted by the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) from the Bureau of Labor Statistics) was considered since having a positive employment outlook is an essential component of making a career an attractive path. These measurements included both the projected growth percentage as well as growth in the absolute number of jobs available. Salary Salary is also a factor, with higher-paying jobs being boosted even if their demand outlook was not as strong. Flexibility and Return on Investment Flexibility and return on investment also influenced the selection of careers, although to a lesser degree than projected career growth or salary. While TikTok may not be the first resource people think of for learning more about different professions, the app has garnered billions of views through its profession-centered content alone. Registered Nurse.org, an educational resource for prospective RNs, ranked which professions have garnered the most views on TikTok, noting that the app's users have spent nearly four billion hours watching videos about 35 different professions, from doctors and nurses to electricians and accountants. And while users may not be watching because they want to pursue the same career, TikTok has become a way to gain insight across a host of disciplines, explains Melissa Stephenson, a media relations associate who works with Registered Nursing.org. "TikTok is a platform where professionals' reach is endless, so they can shed light on what they experience in a certain industry to anyone interested in their field," says Stephenson. "These videos can also provide honest, sometimes not-so-glamorous advice, so job seekers know exactly what they are getting themselves into."
