Rishikesh: In the latest development in the murder case of 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari who worked at the Vanantara resort in Uttarakhand ’s Rishikesh, police have invoked the Gangster Act against the three accused, including resort owner Pulkit Arya.

AA NEW DELHI: A day after three people, including the son of BJP ex-minister Vinod Arya, were arrested for allegedly murdering 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari, the police on Saturday recovered her body from Chilla Barrage in Uttarakhand.

Ankita Bhandari was found dead in Chilla canal in Rishikesh on September 24, six days after she went missing on September 18. She started working as a receptionist at Vanantara Resort in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district on August 28, which was her first job.

Ankita's father Virendra Bhandari has refused to perform the last rites of his daughter. He said, "The government has tampered with the evidence by running a bulldozer on resort at midnight. Ankita's last rites will be performed only when the final post-mortem report is received.
